Zeeland man in serious condition after crash with front end loader in Holland Township

A Zeeland man is in serious condition after a two-vehicle crash in Holland Township early Saturday.

At around 7:22 a.m., the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle crash near westbound I-196 Business Loop Drive in Holland Township.

An investigation revealed a 22-year-old man from Holland was driving west on I-196, where he was struck by a large commercial front end loader used for plowing.

The front end loader was driven by a 45-year-old Zeeland man, who was crossing westbound I-196 Business Loop to Van Hill Drive.

The 22-year-old Zeeland man was transported to an area hospital, where he is in serious condition, officials said.

The 45-year-old front end loader driver did not sustain any apparent injuries.

This crash is under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
